What have we been doing? Here are some photos to answer that question…
Ava got pretty sick with an ear infection. I am pretty sure there was more going on because she has never been that sick before. But the antibiotic we had just covered it all and she’s back to her happy self!
We made it to the water park almost weekly this Summer.
We had fun in the water in our own backyard too!
And in someone else’s backyard! But that evening the kittens were the most fun thing.
As I’m going through pictures I am finding that food seems to be a popular item.
On this day, Adelynn pulled her little cart over on herself in the grocery store. A couple of employees felt sorry for her and both of the girls ended up with cupcakes! Adelynn felt better.
Our friend Shanna grew this cucumber in her garden. Adelynn wanted it for a snack and started eating it before I had a chance to help her with it. She still loved it!
We had a pretty rough day the other day and by 10:45 am the only solution was ice cream. For all of us.
My first trip to Druber’s!! YUM.
On many days Ava will have grapes for breakfast.
Similarly, Adelynn likes avocado for breakfast!
Making cookies with Nana.
On this night, we chose to get ice cream with friends after swimming. It was past bedtime – and the plans were last minute, so all I had for Ava was pajamas. She stole my ice cream late at night and loved every second.
Eating incredible sushi and celebrating 6 married years and a decade of togetherness! Some things never change – and that’s good
I walked into Ava’s room to find Adelynn feeding her yogurt to her sister.
While Dave was gone for a week, I had the brilliant idea of giving the girls popsicles during their bath. I figured we would save time and mess this way. It worked! But now when we have popsicles Ava goes and stands at the bathroom door. And when we have baths, Adelynn wants popsicles. Worth it!
Donuts on the porch. Mmm.
Adelynn LOOOOVES Bruce…
Here he is in her doll house (Photo by Adelynn)
She was supposed to go to her room to put on her pajamas… (those are her pajamas, and in her pajamas is Bruce) She’s still in her same clothing state as she was upon exiting the bath tub.
This is a very small laundry basket. On this day I found Adelynn scrunched up and sleeping inside with Bruce.
Hang with me… I have a few more things to share.
Dave’s cousin was great enough to let us ride on his 4th of July parade float. Adelynn did an excellent job waving (our family is in the picture).
Later on the 4th, we did fireworks together. Adelynn and her cousin Olivia decided they were too loud. Dave’s Aunt Carol offered to give them ear muffs. Adelynn calls them “ear knobs”. Problem solved!
Ava is a smart little girl. I asked her where her nose was one day and she got up and ran off! I figured she was ignoring me, but she went to get this book, sat and patiently turned to this page, and then pointed to her nose!! We have tons of books but she knew what she was doing!
Coloring is exhausting.
Her future’s so bright…
This is why we cleaned out our book collection! This kept her occupied for 45 minutes straight!
This was Adelynn’s way of hiding from her sister.
While Dave was gone for a week, we did a video chat. Once the call was over, I closed the laptop and went to do something else. I came back to this sweet girl missing her Daddy! (See, I told you she was smart!)
Daddy makes for some pretty great sleepovers though
At 17 months old, Ava is already showing a high interest in being a dancer like her sister. She copies Adelynn all the time, but even when Adelynn isn’t dancing, Ava often is. There are dance parties in our living room on a daily basis. They like to dance together and hold hands, but they both like to lead… like their Momma. Thata girls!
We are already thinking of starting to save up for both of them to be in dance classes at the same time!
